A detailed report by the Bureau of International Labor Affairs (ILAB) at the U.S. Department of Labor reveals how the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR) has been transformed into a vast state-imposed forced-labor system. The document titled “Against Their Will: The Situation in Xinjiang” outlines that since 2016, more than one million Uyghurs and other mostly Muslim minorities have been arbitrarily detained and compelled into labor under conditions of extreme surveillance and ideological coercion.
